Hot coffee is really nasty....another reason why I'm not God.  I liked the lesson or the analogy.

What a great illustration!  My daughter and I were talking about this very scripture a few days ago.  But in a little different connotation ... when it comes to our commitment to God, He would rather we be hot or cold ... this is true.

Something we have been struggling with in our circle (homeschool) recently are the man-made extremes - those that say "Thou shalt only wear dresses and thou shall not get a college degree, as thou shalt ONLY be a wife and stay at home mom" and those that say "God loves you just the way you are, so you don't need to change ANYTHING, even the sinful parts".  I explained to her that I don't think the extremists who think wearing certain clothing or listening hymns only makes a person any more holy, but that we are to strive to be more Christ-like and while Jesus DOES love us when we are sinners, it is our responsibility to put away the sinful behaviors we exhibited before coming to Him.  So in that regard, I guess middle of the road IS a good thing?

    Dear Steve,

I keep forgetting to come round that often, but when I do I always get a smile on my face.

Do you know you have EXACTLY the same expression in the first two photos? If it weren't for the fact that I can plainly see your body has moved, I would think the cold cup of coffee was just "photoshopped" on the first image.

You should be a "male model"!!!! LOL
